The SAVIX MIS is an online performance tracking system, tailored to the needs of Savings Group projects and programmes. It is used by more than 1,600 institutions in more than 4,500 projects, in 77 countries, covering more than 14 million participants. In the last 10 months we have run four online training courses for the SAVIX MIS. This is to announce that a fifth such course will be held between November 7th and the 10th December.
Limited to a maximum of 15 participants, and supported by 3 staff members from VSL Associates, these quarterly courses consist of 7 modules, delivered over 5 weeks, to classes of English-speaking participants. The in-depth, interactive course covers the following
Module 1. Introduction to the course
Module 2: What is an MIS & deciding on architecture: This module takes participants through the structure of the MIS and helps them to decide on an optimal structure
Module 3: Setting up an MIS and the first project. In this module each participant creates their own MIS and project, based on a standard model.
Module 4: Data definitions, Data collection, review and entry. This two-part module helps operational staff understand the meaning of the data points and can identify bad data
Module 5: Report preparation, analysis and application. This two-part module covers the creation of Project management reports and Operational reports, based on a model MIS, created for this training.
Module 6: Setting up User-defined data fields and reviewing supplemental utilities. This two-part module teaches the participants how to create User-defined fields and how to create networks of projects from different MIS instances, potentially from other organisations and in different countries.
Module 7. This is an optional module that covers the use of the SAVIX MIS Mobile data entry application, for use on Android ‘phones.
By the end of the course users will understand how to set up the MIS, manage standard data, set up user-defined fields and produce and interpret reports. In addition, you will learn how to create a network of projects in different MIS instances, including international networks.
The course begins on Thursday the 4th November 2021 and will end on the 10th December. See the attached Syllabus for course No. 5.
The cost will be $750 per participant paid in advance through bank transfer.
