Sa-Dhan is organizing a series of webinars on the impact of COVID-19, the first installment taking place on May 11.
COVID-19 is having a devastating impact on the operations of Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) and client livelihood in our country. The microfinance sector is the provider of credit and other financial/non-financial support to the underprivileged community of the society. MFIs have been hit the hardest with margins squeezed and lack of funds for lending as well as operational expenses. The activities in the entire sector have come to a standstill. The clients are also bearing the brunt of the lock down. The livelihoods and income generating activities of our clients is greatly affected.
At this juncture, when the entire country has been under lock down for almost 50 days, it's of highest importance to understand the post lock down strategy. The webinar will primarily deliberate the strategies of MFIs in present and post lock down scenario in terms of risk management, efficient operation management, clients engagement, internal audit, security of staff and clients and so forth.
