In view of the ongoing public health crisis due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, we regret to announce that SEEP has decided to indefinitely postpone SG2020: The Future of Savings Groups to ensure the health and wellbeing of our conference participants.
Many of you have reached out to us over the past few days regarding the status of SG2020, rightly sharing both your individual and organizational concerns on the virus’ expanding global reach. SEEP has been closely monitoring the spread of the disease, especially related to our conference registrants and your planned travel. As always, your safety and the safety of our conference team is our highest priority.
We kindly ask for your patience during this unfortunate situation and pledge to communicate all updates with you both swiftly and openly. We recognize the inconvenience this turn of events may cause, and appreciate your understanding.
We are sincerely grateful for the time and dedication of all session speakers and coaches, as well as our wonderful Advisory Committees and the engaged participants who make this event possible. This event represents an incredible group effort over the past year, and it is our intention to preserve as much of the dynamic agenda as possible over the next few months, whether hosted virtually or during a future event, or other alternative methods.
As always, thank you for your continued support of the Global Savings Groups Conference Series, and we look forward to sharing further developments with you as they become available.
We encourage you to redeem your remaining registration credit for SG2020: The Future of Savings Groups at this year's SEEP Annual Conference (Oct 26-30). In view of the current health crisis, this year’s conference will be hosted entirely online and will feature a
technical stream devoted to Savings Groups at the Frontlines of
COVID-19, exploring how best to support groups and their members during this crisis and effectively engage them in community-level response efforts.
In light of the coronavirus epidemic, we felt a responsibility to put the safety of our participants first and cancel the event. This decision was not easy to make. We fully understand the
hard work that went into preparing for the conference and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Due to the current public health crisis as well as logistical considerations, SEEP cannot confirm whether SG2020: The Future of Savings Groups will be postponed to another date in its
entirety.
However, it is our intention to preserve as much of the dynamic agenda as possible over the coming months, whether through virtual learning events, future convenings, or other alternative methods.
Over the next few weeks, we will explore options for providing alternative models of sharing your content.
You will have the option to receive credit for the amount paid for a future SEEP conference of your choice. We kindly ask for your continued patience and understanding as we explore the
financial implications of cancelling the event.
